About the role
KuasaSemi is looking for enthusiastic and ambitious engineers who are keen to become a crucial part of the team and play a significant role in the business. You will work with a forward-thinking team and contribute to the development of an application that simulates next-generation semiconductor technologies. You will play a pivotal role in building this application from the ground up.

Responsibilities
- Perform TCAD simulations of power and RF semiconductor devices (Si, SiC, GaN, and related technologies)
- Develop, calibrate, and validate device models against experimental or literature data
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation
- Present results internally and externally (including to CTO and R&D leadership)
- Participate in R&D projects, including modelling novel device architectures
- Manage simulation projects independently, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met
- Attend customer meetings, conferences, and industry events as required
Support customers by:
- Understanding their device structures and challenges
- Delivering simulation-driven insights and recommendations
Collaborate with the software team to:
- Provide feedback on tool usability and features
- Contribute to application-level improvements and workflows
Skills
We are open to candidates with a variety of experience. We expect strengths in some of these areas and a willingness to develop oneself in others. These are skills, education and experience that are advantageous but not compulsory. Each candidate will be evaluated on their own merits.
Required
- Degree (MSc/PhD preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics
- Demonstrated experience in TCAD simulation and device modelling
- Experience working with power or RF semiconductor devices (e.g. MOSFETs, IGBTs, diodes, HEMTs)
- Knowledge of wide bandgap materials (SiC and/or GaN)
- Ability to interpret and correlate simulation and experimental data
- Excellent technical communication and report writing skills
- Proven ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience interacting with customers or stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Desirable
- Experience using commercial TCAD tools
- Familiarity with device reliability, breakdown, and thermal effects
- Programming/scripting experience (e.g. Python, MATLAB, or C/C++)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Knowledge of numerical methods or finite element modelling
- Experience in debugging / Fault finding for technical issues
- Experience in application engineering or customer-facing technical roles
The salary range is £40k-£55k.
